The 2014 General Election's was done in 9 phases in India, the longest election in the country's history, from 7 April - 12 May 2014 to constitute the 16th Lok Sabha. Voting took place in all 543 parliamentary constituencies of India to elect Members of Parliament (MP) for the Lok Sabha.
Counting starts at 8:00 AM across 989 counting centres, Counting of votes on EVM ballot units will begin half-an-hour after the counting for postal ballots starts. The first trends are expected to trickle in as early as 8:30 AM and by 11:00 AM a clear picture would emerge on the single largest party.
The result of this election will be declared on 16th May, 2014.
